SRK’s view at 42 !

Shahrukh Khan Unconventionally good looking, exuberant, energetic, and multi-faceted are just the right words to describe the very popular actor, producer, playback singer, and TV anchor, Shahrukh Khan. He is one of the most popular and loved Bollywood stars, who has been compared to the likes of legendary actors Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. He has reigned Bollywood since early 1990s and with his never-say-die attitude and love for movies he is expected to stay at the top for long. His life has been just like one of his melodramatic family movies with happiness, love, pain, success, failures, and more success.

Shahrukh Khan (also known as "King Khan") has been in more than 50 Hindi films and has won 13 Film fare awards, regarded as the "Bollywood Oscars". He is the biggest star in Hindi cinema and this means billions of fans (Bollywood has a global audience of 3.6 billion; Hollywood has 2.5 billion).

Shahrukh Khan in childhoodSRK – Childhood

Born in a Muslim family in Delhi on November 2nd, 1965, Shahrukh Khan was always a very cheerful and enthusiastic child. As a child, he would mimic film actress Mumtaz and recite shaayri (Urdu poetry) for his father. Shahrukh was born with the umbilical cord entangled around his neck. A nurse said that it was by the blessings of Hanuman and that he would be a very lucky child.

Shahrukh's mother (Fatima Begum) was educated at Oxford, worked as a social worker and a magistrate while his father (Taj Khan) was a chief engineer. The couple met incidentally under strange circumstances. Injured in a car accident, Shahrukh's mother needed blood. His father who happened to be at the hospital at that time gave her blood. They eventually fell in love and married. With an elder sister, Shehnaz, Shahrukh claims to have had a decent childhood. Though the family did go through financial problems, his parents made sure that the kids did not suffer.

Shahrukh Khan with FamilyShahrukh finds his sweetheart

Shahrukh was 19 when he first met fourteen-year-old Gauri Chibber at a party. They were good friends - playing badminton, swimming and eating out together. Gradually their friendship developed into love, and soon Shahrukh was compiling History notes for Gauri despite being a student of Economics! SRK was able to convince her of his love and the two were wed on October 25th, 1991. But, of course, it was not easy for the love-struck couple. But soon, Shahrukh won their hearts. The Khans had a typical Hindu wedding as well as a court marriage. The couple are blessed with two children- Aryan and Suhana.

In India, where he lives with his wife and two children in Mumbai, he can't leave his house without six bodyguards (the hysteria that follows him makes Beatle-mania look like a librarians' convention).

Career

Shahrukh Khan MoviesAs Actor

Khan started his acting career in 1988 appearing in the television series Fauji playing the role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai. He went on to appear in several other television serials most notably appearing in the 1989 serial Circus, which depicted the life of circus performers and was directed by Aziz Mirza. In 1993 he won acclaim for his performances as a murderer and obsessive lover respectively in the box office hits Baazigar and Darr. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil to Pagal Hai, Pardes, Yes Boss, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Devdas, Chalte Chalte etc.

2004 proved to be a good year for Khan commercially and critically as well. He starred in Main Hoon Na which was the directorial debut of choreographer Farah Khan. His most recent film was the sports film Chak De India.

Shahrukh Khan today is making everyone talk about his awesome ‘six pack abs’ and his dashing new look in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om.The promos of the number Dard-E-Disco from the film Om Shanti Om that are being aired day in and day out seem to have audiences spellbound.

Apparently the Badshaah of Bollywood went through all the pains of a tirelessly daily workout only for the sake of his son Aryan, who was disappointed that his dad didn’t have a ‘V’ shaped body and perfect abs like that of a John Abraham, Salman Khan or a Hrithik Roshan.

As a Producer

Khan has also produced some of the films he has starred in but has had mixed success as both the producer and the star of his films. He set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza in 1999. The first two of the films he produced and starred in: Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000) and Asoka (2001) were box office failures. The forthcoming film produced by his company Red Chillies Entertainment is Om Shanti Om which he will also star in.

Shahrukh Khan as writer

Shahrukh in literature!!!!!! . It may sound strange but really among his ever busy schedule, Shahrukh khan is preparing his autobiography in grand style. In his own words, it will contain "my early days of struggle, my new experiences everyday while doing serials". Not only that, it will contain his early college days, his craze for cricket and also his real love story by gouri.

The book will be published by ace publication " Penguin " and will release shortly in the market .You can expect a lot of spicy information from this book.

Shahrukh’s ‘CHAMPU’ wax statue!Shahrukh’s ‘CHAMPU’ wax statue!

It now seems that Shahrukh Khan loves to follow Big B footsteps. First came the remake of Don, followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati and now Shahrukh Khan will be part of London's Madame Tussaud's wax celebrities.

A life-size wax statue of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan was inaugurated at the world-famous Madame Tussaud's museum in London recently. Much to everyone’s surprise, the statue looks more like the ‘Kaun Banega Champu’ (a spoof on KBC) host and stand-up comedian Sunil Grover than the real Shah Rukh Khan! Why it that the Tussauds wax artists is unable to create an exact version of our stars? The Hollywood stars’ wax statues are so life-like! Even Aishwarya Rai’s wax statute isn’t an exact replica of the Indian beauty – in fact far from it. Amitabh Bachchan’s wax model is not an exception either but is a better effort when compared to these two ‘fake attempts’. It’s disappointing considering the fact that Shahrukh is extremely popular and deserves better than a ‘champu’ wax statue by the Brits.

‘Still Reading Khan’ (SRK)

An account of SRK’s life, being written by his journalist friend Mushtaq Sheikh is expected to be out before Christmas. Shahrukh Khan comes to the forefront once again when his book ‘Still Reading Khan’ (abbreviated as SRK) that is all set to see the light of the day.

'Shahrukh bahut sharif aadmi hai'

Nasreen Munni Kabir remembers Shahrukh Khan's reaction when she pitched the idea of a documentary based on the star's life to him.

"His first reaction was why me?" says the British Indian filmmaker and journalist as she sits in the lobby of Manhattan's Radisson Hotel, to talk about her two documentaries The Inner/ Outer World of Shahrukh Khan. "Bahut sharif aadmi hai yeh (He is a very straight guy)," she says about Khan. "He doesn't push his weight around. He loves his stardom and his connection with the audience, but he doesn't misuse his power. He has the world at his feet, but a lot of people have the world at their feet by hook or crook."

Shahrukh Khan new facesShahrukh Khan and his six packs

You’re called King Khan. With your six-pack abs, you’ve become the fittest king around...

Shahrukh Khan is in his 42 years age and building the Six Pack Abs in this age is like impossible because people feels tired and laziness kills them. Getting up early and start running, jogging, bench presses, pushups, etc is not the work done in this mid-age. King Khan promptly agreed to Farah’s proposal to get six pack abs. “Shahrukh just asked for three months and he worked hard. He told me that if he did not get the six packs he would not take off his shirt in front of the camera,” adds Farah Khan.

I really appreciate his effort for his Six Pack Abs. it is really suiting him and making him look like a Macho Kung-Fu Man.I think now he is ready for some other Martial art or Kung Fu movies too. He made his body tuned for the movie Om Shanti Om where he is displaying his bare chest and fascinating his fans. I hope now more female fan followers will be increased because of his great physical abs.
